Spread Smiles

Happiness is something which multiplies when we share our happiness with others.This is universal truth apart from this i learnt a valuable lesson.Lemme share it with u all.

<<---FLASH BACK--->>
During my final year of Engineering, our class decided to go on an outing to an orphanage and help the kids there by giving them food and some goodies.This was planned and organised by our classmates.They organized very well.

The only problem with it was the count of members going to the Orphanage.Many including me backed off saying that parents din allow coz they thought that their daughters were very weak and would cry on seeing the poor children and some others had works.The count was thus reduced from 66 in total to 30.

Then after thinking over and over about it and coz my friends were all going i too wanted to go and my parents din block me. They wanted me not to worry and i promised them i won't.

The day we planned for arrived,it was a bright sunny day and we all started our journey together by gathering up in bus stand. Then we took a bus and after walking a while through the narrow streets where we took some snaps, we reached the Orphanage.

The Orphanage looked like a house from outside and it had big ground around it. The plain ground to the left of the orphanage was big enough for playing some games like running and catching,lock and key,chain games etc. The place infront of the orphanage entrance after the main gate had small slides,see-saw,merry-go-around and swings for children. The Orphanage had a big hall and from that hall it split into 3sections. To the left the sections had rooms for boys and to the right rooms for girls and the center one was the dining hall. The orphanage had nearly 50children. I guess u all can picturize the orphanage now.

The orphanage children were all around 12 to 14years of age. The children were all assembled in the hall when we entered. I felt very odd as i din know what i must do there.We sat in the center of the hall and the old lady who is the care-taker was telling about the funds their orphanage receives.She even asked us to sing songs for the children.
While we were preparing a song, I and my friend noticed few girls sitting on the swing. Thinking that we could join them and ask them their names we went near and started with a hi and what's ur name?.The moment we went there the other girls too joined us and they were very excited they started telling us some stories about them and their family(Sentimental ones which made us cry). Hearing all that i really wondered "how their small hearts can handle all such pains??".But the children were cheerful and they bounced back from their sad part of life to the present which they believed was the happy part as we were there for them to spend a day with them.That moment i again wondered "how they can be this cheerful and contented when nothing went right in their life according to me".
Then i heard a voice calling me "Akka come and play with us", which brought me back from those thoughts and i joined them in a chain game(i dono the exact name of it). We played for an hour or more and we all mingled with all the kids there in the orphanage. Each and every kid there had a sad story to tell but admist all those tragedies they were all satisfied with what they have rather than worrying about what they lacked!

Then we had our lunch and evening snacks with them and they were all so happy that we came to visit them.They played with us till 6 in the evening and showered loads of love upon us(ie:The girls there were all like Akka talk to me,akka come here, akka take this, akka see this etc).We took photos of them and we left the place.The kids bid us goodbye till we were hidden by the street end walls.

They showed abundant love and affection on us. I was really happy that i joined my classmates and was very thankful that they arranged such useful trips. The memories of those children are forever etched in my heart!!

THE LESSONS I LEARNT FROM THEM ARE:

  • Happiness is Being thankful and satisfied with what you have(even when you have nothing) and what you are is what matters the most in life.
  • Happiness is Making others happy(even when you have nothing to be happy about/for) and enjoying each and every moment by spreading smiles is important in life.

**HELPING ORPHANS AND NEEDY MAKES US FEEL HAPPY AND SATISFIED!!**
LET US ALL HELP, TO MAKE THEIR LIFE BETTER!!
